Floor Cloths:Early settlers lived in cabins with dirt floors; the women took the old sails from the ships and used them to cover their dirt floors, to keep down the dust. They often patined these canvases to liven up their homes. That was the humble beginnings of floor cloths. Today, they are still used to liven up a room. Floor cloths are decorative, durable, washable, and can be used on the floor or hung on a wall.
